Course Description: Monoprints are so called as each print is unique and none are exactly the same. Students will produce prints on paper in this workshop. This process is easy to learn and requires few supplies. Students will follow a step-by-step procedure in the production of their prints. They will begin by drawing shapes on cardboard and cutting them out. These shapes will be glued onto a large sheet of cardboard. The students will use brayers to apply ink to the surface or their cardboard. A sheet of paper will be placed on top of the inked surface. The students will rub the back of the paper to transfer the ink. The paper is carefully peeled off the cardboard creating a print. Each print should be allowed to completely dry before undergoing any additional marking such as drawing or writing on the surface.
